The differences between wet pressed tableware and dry pressed tableware

Oct 29, 2024

There are the following main differences between wet pressed tableware and dry pressed tableware:

I. Production process

1. Wet pressed tableware:
- The raw materials are mixed into a mud or slurry, poured into a mold, and formed under a certain pressure.
- The humidity requirements for the raw materials are high during the production process, and a certain moisture content is usually required to ensure that the slurry can fill the mold well.
2. Dry pressed tableware:
- Dry powdered raw materials are directly pressed under high pressure.
- Compared with wet pressing, the requirements for the particle size and uniformity of the raw materials are more stringent.

II. Appearance characteristics

1. Wet pressed tableware:
- The surface is relatively smooth and delicate, with good texture.
- More complex shapes and fine patterns can be produced.
2. Dry pressed tableware:
- The appearance may be slightly rough, but the surface quality can also be improved through post-processing.
- The shape is relatively regular, suitable for making simple and generous styles.

3. Performance Differences

1. Wet-pressed tableware:
- The strength is generally relatively low, and you need to be more careful to avoid collisions and falls during use.
- However, due to the moisture content in the production process, it may have a certain degree of water absorption, and you need to pay attention to cleaning and drying to prevent bacteria from growing.
2. Dry-pressed tableware:
- It usually has higher strength and hardness and is more durable.
- It has lower water absorption and is easy to clean and maintain.

4. Different costs

1. Wet-pressed tableware:
- The production process is relatively complex, requiring more equipment and manpower, and the cost may be higher.
- Due to the high humidity requirements for raw materials, additional drying treatment may be required, which increases the cost.
2. Dry-pressed tableware:
-The process is relatively simple and the cost may be relatively low.
-The processing of raw materials is relatively less, which also helps to reduce costs
