Technical Requirements For Degradable Tableware

Jan 15, 2024

Disposable biodegradable tableware must be made from non-toxic, harmless, clean and pollution-free raw materials that comply with national food hygiene and environmental protection regulations and standards. The following raw materials, additives, coatings, and chemical agents shall not be used to make or process disposable biodegradable tableware:
1. Unpolluted natural materials and their rough processed products;
2. Failure, deterioration, mold or contamination;
3. The content of harmful substances does not meet hygiene standards;
4. Recycling recycled materials;
5. Fluorescent whitening agent.
Green and environmentally friendly packaging should meet three points: first, it is easy to recycle, second, it is easy to dispose of, and third, it is easy to absorb, which is easy to integrate with the natural environment. However, even biodegradable tableware cannot be achieved in a short period of time. Many degradation products claim to have a degradation time of three to six months, but in fact, this is determined under laboratory standard environments. In natural environments, degradation is influenced by various factors such as temperature and humidity. For example, if you place a lunch box in a place without water, it is also difficult to degrade. Under natural conditions, degradation products require at least one year to degrade.
