How to make packaging boxes with bagasse?

Mar 18, 2024

Sugarcane bagasse is usually used as fuel. However, sugarcane bagasse can also be processed into useful packaging materials. Making packaging with bagasse is a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic packaging. The process of using bagasse to make packaging is simple and clear, and it is environmentally friendly. Now, we will discuss how to use bagasse to make packaging.
First of all is purchasing the raw material. Sugarcane bagasse is the fibrous material left after extracting sugar from sugarcane. We neeed to screen and clean sugarance bagasse to remove the impurities from them in order to ensure the quality of the raw material.

The second step is pulping stage. In this stage, sugarcane bagasse will be drowned in water and mechanical stirring of raw materials to fully disperse their fibers, which can enhance the strength and other properties of the bagasse pulp.

The third step is to shape the produced bagasse pulp through a specific molding mold. The shape of the mold determines the final shape of the packaging box. During the molding process, bagasse pulp is subjected to pressure in the mold, causing its fibers to tightly bond and form a wet embryo with a certain strength and shape.

The fourth part is drying. We will use specialized drying equipment to efficiently volatilizee the moisture in the wet embryo, which will make the packaging box become hard and stable.

The final part is packaging and quality checking.
