Raw Material For Pulp Molding Production 2: Bamboo Pulp

Jan 11, 2024

Bamboo pulp is a good raw material for pulp molding (plant fiber molding) products. Bamboo fiber belongs to the category of medium length fibers, with properties intermediate between coniferous wood and broad-leaved wood.
The products produced using bamboo pulp have strong toughness and are less prone to cracking when producing deep products. The surface is smooth and delicate, with a high whiteness. However, after friction on the surface of the product, it is easy to produce plush like fibers. When the proportion of bamboo pulp used exceeds 40%, grinding treatment should be carried out to eliminate the appearance of fuzzy fibers on the surface of the product.
Bamboo pulp is often used to manufacture high-end mobile phone packaging inner pallets, cosmetics packaging, and tableware. It is a good raw material for pulp molding. The production of products with complex shapes, small slopes, and R angles generally requires the addition of a certain proportion of bamboo pulp. Due to the preciousness of bamboo pulp resources and its slightly higher price compared to bagasse pulp, it is currently mostly used in a certain proportion with bagasse fibers to increase performance and reduce costs.
There are bamboo pulp production factories in northern China, Sichuan, and Jiangxi.
